Two agencies quote you for SEO in Dubai. One says AED 5,000 a month, the other AED 25,000. Both proposals list “keyword research, on page optimisation, content and reporting”. Is the expensive one five times better, or is the cheap one cutting corners you will pay for later?
The short answer: SEO cost in Dubai mostly reflects hours of senior work. At typical agency rates, AED 5,000 a month buys roughly 14 to 18 hours, which is enough to maintain a small site or fix a few priority pages. AED 25,000 buys roughly 68 to 91 hours, which is enough for a full programme: technical work, new content every month, digital PR and proper reporting. The right budget depends on how competitive your market is and how fast you need results.
This guide converts published pricing data into AED, shows what each budget realistically buys, and gives you a way to check any quote you receive.
How much does SEO cost in Dubai?
There is no large public survey of SEO pricing in the UAE alone, so the most reliable reference is global data converted at the dirham’s fixed rate of 3.6725 to the US dollar, a peg the UAE Central Bank has said is here to stay.
The Ahrefs survey of 439 SEO providers found:
| Pricing model | Most common range (USD) | Converted to AED |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | $501 to $1,000 (20.4% of providers) | AED 1,840 to 3,670 |
| Average monthly spend | $2,917 | About AED 10,710 |
| Hourly rate | $75 to $100 (24% of providers) | AED 275 to 367 an hour |
| One off project | $2,501 to $5,000 (21.2% of providers) | AED 9,180 to 18,360 |
The same survey found pricing varies sharply by where the provider is based. In India, 76% of SEOs charge USD 1,000 a month or less, while 79.1% of US and Canadian SEOs charge at least USD 1,001. Dubai agencies quoting in AED usually sit between those two, and many deliver part of the work from lower cost teams elsewhere. That is not a problem in itself, but you should know who does the work.
What your SEO budget buys in hours
Hours are the most honest way to compare quotes. Divide the monthly fee by the hourly rate range above and you get a realistic ceiling on the senior time you are buying.

| Monthly budget | Hours at AED 367 an hour | Hours at AED 275 an hour |
|---|---|---|
| AED 5,000 | About 14 | About 18 |
| AED 10,000 | About 27 | About 36 |
| AED 15,000 | About 41 | About 55 |
| AED 25,000 | About 68 | About 91 |
Ask every agency how many hours a month your fee covers and who does them. If a AED 5,000 proposal promises 20 blog posts, a technical audit, link building and weekly calls, the maths does not work. Something is being automated, outsourced or skipped.
What AED 5,000 a month buys in SEO
Roughly 14 to 18 hours a month. Used well, that covers:
- Monthly technical health checks and fixes on a small site
- Optimising two to four existing service pages
- Google Business Profile management for one location
- One well researched article or landing page
- A short monthly report with Search Console data
What it does not buy: a serious content programme, digital PR, or competing for head terms like “lawyer Dubai” or “real estate Dubai”. It suits a single location business in a niche with few strong competitors, or a company that already ranks and needs maintenance.
What AED 10,000 to 15,000 a month buys
Roughly 27 to 55 hours a month. This is where most growing UAE businesses should start if search is a real lead channel:
- A proper technical audit in month one, then ongoing fixes
- Two to four new pages or articles a month, written by someone who knows the subject
- Internal linking and conversion improvements on key pages
- Some outreach for mentions and links
- Basic AEO work: answer first content and AI visibility tracking
- Reporting tied to leads, not just rankings
What AED 25,000 a month buys in SEO
Roughly 68 to 91 hours a month. That is a full programme, usually with a strategist, a technical SEO, writers and an outreach specialist:
- Everything in the middle tier, at higher volume
- Six to ten pieces of content a month, including comparison and pricing pages
- Digital PR to earn coverage in UAE and industry media
- Arabic content or a second market
- Full AEO work alongside SEO, with share of voice reporting
- Conversion rate work on the pages that rank
This level makes sense for competitive categories in Dubai (real estate, legal, healthcare, finance, education), multi location businesses and ecommerce stores with large catalogues. For a small business in a quiet niche, it is usually more than the opportunity can return.
SEO pricing models in the UAE: retainer, project or hourly
| Model | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | Ongoing growth where content and links compound over time | Vague scope; insist on named deliverables and hours |
| One off project | Audits, migrations, site launches | No one implements the recommendations afterwards |
| Hourly or consulting | Teams with in house writers and developers who need senior direction | Hours creeping without a cap |

Hidden SEO costs Dubai businesses forget to budget
- Developer time. Many technical fixes need your developer. If they are busy, recommendations sit in a backlog while you keep paying the retainer.
- Content input. Good content needs your experts’ time for interviews and review. Budget a few hours a month from your side.
- Tools. Some agencies include tool costs; others bill them separately. Ask.
- Translation and Arabic content. Proper Arabic pages need native writers, not machine translation.
- Photography and design. Original images and graphics help pages stand out and are rarely included.
Which SEO budget fits your business?
These ranges are my recommendations from scoping UAE engagements, not market benchmarks.
| Your situation | Suggested monthly budget |
|---|---|
| Single location, niche service, few competitors | AED 4,000 to 7,000 |
| Growing B2B or professional services firm, search is a key lead source | AED 10,000 to 18,000 |
| Competitive consumer category (real estate, clinics, legal, education) | AED 15,000 to 30,000 |
| Ecommerce or multi location, English and Arabic | AED 25,000 and up |
Before committing to a retainer, a one off audit often saves money by showing which problems are actually holding you back. Our technical SEO audit checklist for the UAE and the list of reasons a website is not ranking in Dubai help you scope that first step.
Red flags in cheap SEO quotes
- Guaranteed rankings. Google states plainly that no one can guarantee a #1 ranking.
- Huge content volume for a small fee. Google’s spam policies treat mass produced pages made with generative AI and no added value as scaled content abuse.
- “Hundreds of backlinks” packages. Bulk links from unrelated sites can do more harm than good.
- No access to your own data. You should own your Search Console, Analytics and every report.
- Long lock ins with no exit. Six months is a fair minimum for SEO; a year with no exit clause is not.

FAQs on SEO cost in Dubai
How much does SEO cost per month in Dubai?
Most Dubai businesses pay between AED 4,000 and AED 30,000 a month depending on competition and scope. For reference, an Ahrefs survey of 439 SEO providers found an average monthly spend of USD 2,917, about AED 10,710 at the fixed exchange rate of 3.6725.
Is AED 5,000 a month enough for SEO in Dubai?
It can be for a single location business in a niche with few competitors, or a site that already ranks and needs maintenance. At typical rates of AED 275 to 367 an hour, it buys about 14 to 18 hours of work a month, which is not enough for a full content and link building programme.
What is the hourly rate for SEO in the UAE?
The most common hourly rate in the Ahrefs survey of SEO providers was USD 75 to 100, which converts to about AED 275 to 367 an hour. Rates vary widely depending on seniority and where the team is based.
Should I pay for SEO monthly or per project?
Monthly retainers suit ongoing growth because content and links compound over time. One off projects suit audits, migrations and launches. Hourly consulting works best when you have in house writers and developers who need senior direction.
Why do SEO quotes in Dubai vary so much?
Quotes differ mainly in the hours of senior work included, who does the work and where they are based, how much content and outreach is included, and whether AEO, Arabic content or conversion work is part of the scope.
